Car designer and builder Al Melling has decided to reopen the doors of his company, the MCD Partnership at the Algarve International Autodrome, in partnership with Phil Egginton and Beverly Ellison.
The mother house will remain in England, but the design and development center will operate in Portimão, after a two-year break in its activity.
Al Melling has over 40 years of experience in the design and development of engines and vehicles, having worked with the most prestigious brands such as Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Jaguar, Aston Martin.
He also developed the F1 engines for March and Lola and also for Silk Cut Jaguars that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
MCD Partnersip will design, develop and build engines, racing cars, transmissions, suspensions and other automotive components in Portugal.
According to information released today by the company, «Al Melling’s knowledge and experience are crucial to the company’s success in the domestic market, which also has export as its objective».
In this way, Portugal now has one of the world’s leading engineers in motorsports when it comes to motorsports and motorcycling.
