Huge python DIES after trying to swallow pet cat whole – The Mirror

Beloved moggy Tiger was found inside the stomach of a dead snake
A huge python was killed when it tried to swallow a beloved pet cat whole.
Much-loved family pet Tiger died when the scrub python tried to eat it, but the feline's owners only found out when it saw the dead cat peeping out of the snake's decomposing body.
Francis Bakvis was horrified when he came face to face with his sixteen-year-old cat – inside the stomach of the dead snake.
Mr Bakvis discovered the bloated python in his garden after noticing a foul smell coming from the yard.
It wasn't until he tried to move the snake that he realised where his beloved moggy, who had been missing for three days, had gone.
Mr Bakvis said he thinks the scrub python, which can grow to be up to eight metres long, struggled to eat Tiger and died as a result.
"I pulled the dead snake on to the lawn, and a bit of its skin was already decomposing. I could see, there was my cat," Mr Bakvis told Australian news website the Cairns Post.
"It was pretty miserable to see him go that way. He was getting old and not 100 per cent clear in his little brain sometimes.
"He'd never been sick or anything, and all of a sudden he's no longer there. To find him in the stomach of a snake is not pretty."
The black and white cat had reportedly slept on the family veranda and Mr Bakvis said he had never seen any pythons on his property, in Clifton Beach, northern Queensland, Australia, in 15 years of living there.
